we are.
History
Ralph Williams started the company Micro Consulting in 1984. He mostly sold
accounting software and set up personal computers. Two years later, he started
selling computers as well. Micro Consulting moved to its present 4500 square foot
location in 1992 and went under the new name of The Computer Center.
With the rise of the Internet, Ralph started WCNet (Wharton County Network) in 1996, an
Internet provider for
the local and surrounding counties. As both The Computer Center and WCNet continued
to grow, Ralph sold The Computer Center so he could dedicate his full attention to
WCNet.
Clay Wilkins bought The Computer Center in
July of 1998. Clay, a native of El Campo, returned after 16 years. During that
time, Clay attended Texas A&M University and obtained a bachelor's degree in Business
Analysis (Management Information Systems). After graduating from Texas A & M, he
worked for two companies over the last 12 years where he primarily designed software
programs, installed networks and maintained personal computers.
Our business philosophy is to provide a high
quality product at a fair price and excellent service after the sale.
We invite you to come visit us. We are
conveniently located in the center of downtown El Campo at the crossroads of Business 59
(Jackson St.) and Hwy. 71 (Mechanic).
